Zero Gravity was the voted #1 teen dance club in Chicagoland but now they are seeking to shed their old reputation for the good of bass. Until very recently, Zero Gravity was just a place that young teenagers raved about and older teenagers made fun of, but that all changed when Trollphace came through after a last minute venue switch.
After the invasion of Trollphace, hosted by Trinium, the owners must have been impressed with the energy and numbers of the electronic community, because soon after they partnered with XDI Events in order to transform their teen club into a legitimate venue. Fortunately for Zero Gravity, this isn\’t the first time that XDI Events has converted a club into a bass haven.
Throughout the past year, XDI Events has been bringing out scores of undeniable artists to the Medusa\’s club in Elgin attracting bass fans from both the city and the suburbs. Some of the artists hosted by XDI include Spag Heddy, Dubloadz, 50 Carrot, D-Jahsta, Riot Ten, Bommer, Midnight Tyrannosaurus, Badklaat and more. Besides bringing out big name artists from around the world, XDI was also dedicated on highlighting up and coming talent with artists such as Treepeoh, Grime Theory, Xaebor, Erex, and Dack Janiels.
With this constant flow of heavy bass talent, courtesy of XDI, Medusa\’s became a known venue and a location that artists wanted to visit. Now they are hosting names such as Downlink, AFK, Tincup, and Luminox.
Medusa\’s was rapidly transformed into an established venue after XDI called it home and Zero Gravity wants the same thing to happen to them. The 3 room club in Naperville already has four real 17+ shows with XDI on the books with many more to come. XDI\’s Zero Gravity takeover event on September 5th features Mantis as the headliner, a bass duo from Atlanta booked for Elemental Fusion Festival and Imagine Festival. The XDI takeover event also features the first installment of the \”Future sounds of XDI\” stage in which 10 rookie DJs will be booked to showcase their talent. The next XDI show at Zero Gravity is a week later with Xilent and Subzee D. XDI has also confirmed Algo, Le Lion and The Greys for a show in October along with AB The Thief for a show in December.
If all goes according to plan, Zero Gravity will host many more electronic artists with XDI Events and provide yet another electronic venue in Chicagoland. The more bass the better right?
