Canadian progressive house duo Project 46 have been tearing it up the past few years with a slew of releases, collaborations with the likes of Kaskade, Paul Oakenfold, and Avicii, and a full length album last year. This Friday, they\’re coming to Chicago to perform at the elegant Tunnel Nightclub.

I was given the opportunity to give a quick interview with them in anticipation of their show:
1. For those who aren\’t familiar with you guys, how would you describe Project 46?
We are a Canadian Duo that makes melodic lyrical music! We have worked with so many amazing artists including Kaskade, Laidback Luke, Paul Oakenfold and so many more.
2. How did the two of you meet? How did you come to develop your sound to what it is today?
We met through a mutual fan that was following us both on Soundcloud. We linked up on Skype and started working together. The rest if kinda history!
3. How was your experience with producing your album Beautiful? What were the best and worst parts?
It was a lot of fun making the album and the only thing that was frustrating is how long it took. We were so proud of the final version but thought it was a bit late as progressive house was on a down trend by that point.
4. What have your experiences with Chicago been like? Do you have a favorite show here from your past?
We have normally played Studio Paris and have loved it there. However it has always been on a weekday, so its nice to finally come back on a weekend. The last time we did that was with Morgan Page back on the 3D tour!
5. What do you see for the future of EDM?
Music is always evolving. EDM is just an acronym that really means music made electronically (which all music is now) that makes people dance!
6. Any quick teasers you can give us of upcoming releases or collabs?
We are working with a lot of artists right now. Always trying to work with Kaskade again, working on something with Gareth Emery and Morgan Page. We are super excited about our new track with BYNON that is coming out on Kaskade\’s label Arkade on the same day as the show. It\’s always a good sign when Kaskade loves a track!
