Fresh off the success of their latest collaboration with Nicky Romero, as well as their Ultra Music Festival anthem, Vicetone is taking it one step further by showing off their latest remix of \”When We Were Young\”, one of the singles from Dillon Francis\’ latest album, Money Sucks, Friends Rule. By retaining the Chain Gang of 1974\’s vocals, as well as elements from the original track, Vicetone layered their own style perfectly, resulting in a fantastic progressive remix. All of Vicetone\’s productions are pure gold, and this one is no exception. In an interview with Billboard, Vicetone says that Dillon himself approached them and asked them if they\’d be willing to work on a remix for him, and if he could remix one of their tracks. Who could say no to that? Vicetone also says that, \”we wanted the vibe of the chords to give a melancholic and nostalgic feeling, since that resonates with the vocal well (\”To live again, like when we were young\”)\”. No matter what the circumstances are, we\’re just excited that Vicetone remixed \”When We Were Young\”, and we\’re stoked for it to officially release. Many other producers have also worked on \”When We Were Young\”, so the official remix pack of the track will be released on November 17th. However, you can stream the full Vicetone remix of Dillon Francis\’ \”When We Were Young\” exclusively below.
