At least three people died and over 325 attendees were arrested for public intoxication after attending the 9th edition of HARD Summer Music Festival at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California over the weekend, authorities said Tuesday.
Two women and one man died, but the causes of death were not yet determined pending a coroner\’s report, said Captain Horace Boatwright of the Fontana Sheriff\’s Station. Two of the deaths were on Saturday and one on Sunday, he said.
While investigators await the results of toxicology tests, Captain Horace said the hot weather, which was in the upper 90s during the two days, may have been a factor in the deaths.
Fontana Police also reported a total of nine medical transports at the festival, which attracted 146,000 fans during the two-day event.
