Dynamic duo TRXD have only been making music together since 2016. But hits like “Wherever You Go’ and “Our City”, plus a selection of remixes and collaborations, have garnered well over 30 million streams. New single “Vice” is their first collaboration with fellow Norwegian, songwriter Caroline Ailin, who recently enjoyed massive success with Dua Lipas smash hit “New Rules”. Truls Dyrstad (TR) and David Atarodiyan (D) attended the same college in the south of Norway, and hit it off instantly.”When we met remixes and bootlegs on Soundcloud was a big deal, and to us, it was a way to showcase our skills,” resulting in a write up in Billboard and major label record deal within just months.
In just over a year they went from DJ’ing at parties for friends to playing for thousands at Norway’s VG-lista and by:Larm –and probably more importantly –supporting Chainsmokers in Oslo.”We hung out after the show, talking about production and songwriting. What they said about focus, motivation and the importance of having the right team resonated so strongly with us that we actually ended up adjusting the vision of our way forwards as artists and producers because of this.” Vice is a song about making the wrong choice, again and again. But pairing up with Ailin was definitely the right choice for TRXD, who got a kick out of working the track a little differently from what they’ve done before. Even introducing the guitar, courtesy of Truls, which they’ve never included in any of their previous productions. Though starting off 2019 with a song about bad habits, TRXD is back with new vigor; a new live setup, new bangers, a new team and new –good –habits.
