To celebrate the release of the \’15 Years of Technique Summer Selection\’ album, T-Phonic shares his favorite music documentaries with us.
Jungle Fever /Music Nation (Channel 4)
I think it only came out a year or so ago. I loved it! It touches on how the scene had somehow split and how eventually that all changed! Watching it really brought back memories!
Like getting a train up to black market Records and spending hours downstairs listening to tunes. It was always rammed and you\’d wave your hand in the air at Nicky or Ray Keith if you wanted the tune that was playing. They were good days!
Synth Brittania (BBC)
An awesome documentary talking about the real birth in synthesisers! From punk music to dance music.
Talking Headz
The Metalheadz documentary. It gives an amazing insight to how the jungle/dnb scene was in its early stages and how Metalheadz grew into something very special from small beginnings and helped shape the scene we have today!
Marley (2012)
A documentary on Bob Marleys life. It’s inspirational not just because of his music but by the way he lived his life and what he stood for. The world lost a great man when he passed away but the \”legend\” definitely lives on!
Jimi Hendrix Film(1973 but remade with extras in 2005)
As a kid I loved Jimi. Like Bob Marley he was a cool guy. So it’s always very interesting to find out more about their personalities.
It shows with dedication and hard work anything is possible!
My mate’s Mum also spent some time with him when he performed at the isle of Wight but I\’ll save that story for another time haha
The release, including T-Phonic\’s \’Show Me The Way\’, is out now on Beatport.
