What could possibly be one of the biggest mainstream songs to come out of the EDM industry, Skrillex & Diplo\’s \”Where Are Ü Now\” with Justin Bieber has been doing incredibly well and only continues to do better. In a recent video interview conducted by The New York Times, Skrillex, Diplo and JB sat down with the NYT and discussed how the song came to be, and how the sounds were created. \”Where Are Ü Now\” is actually a song written by JB and Poobear, and then was sent on to Skrill & Dip, who turned it into the masterpiece it is now. What makes this interview interesting is how they discuss the workflow and their editing process, along with showing off some of the original demos that they\’ve made. Skrillex also commented on this generation\’s creation of music,
To me it\’s still cool that we\’re still in an era where people think that people have no talent if they make computer music. I think it\’s awesome, it just shows how young it still is and how relevant it\’s going to be for long time. It\’s like, so rebellious in a lot of ways.
All-in-all, it\’s a really cool insight on how this song came to be, especially being able to hear the \’inside history\’ from all 3 collaborators.
