It\’s amazing what a little sax, drums and Big Gigantic can do for the soul. After taking it easy throughout the winter months, Big Gigantic has hit the road full force. The Colorado duo took the stage at Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee this past Friday, April 1st, and rocked our world.
The evening kicked off with up and coming artist Pizza Hendrix, followed by Melvv and Louis The Child. When the crowd was finally pumped up for the big night, Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken began the show with energetic single, \”Get On Up.\” From there on out, it was a nonstop musical journey that hit all the right notes.
Aside from playing some of their big hits like \”Touch the Sky,\” the duo put their own spin on a variety of songs that could not have been blended together better. The range went from Flux Pavilion\’s \’\”I Cant\’ Stop\” to Jack Ü\’s \”Febreze\” (feat 2 Chainz) and Getter and Ghastly\’s \”666!\” to the classic \”Swing\” by Savage and Soulja Boy. They also premiered their brand new remix of Major Lazer\’s \”Wave\” and it was incredible. The visuals were equally pleasing with space-inspired themes and smooth, psychedelic swirls.
One thing worth noting is that Big G inside of a venue is unique in comparison to their festival sets. While dancing under the stars is one of the best ways to experience music, feeling each beat of Salken\’s drums bounce off the walls and hearing Lalli\’s saxophone fill the entire ballroom is next level.
Big Gigantic has pretty full touring schedule for the next couple of months and into the summer. If you have a chance to get out to one of their shows, we can guarantee you won\’t regret it.
