There are not many artists that can say they have left a lasting mark on genres ranging from reggae to jungle to dubstep, except for the Ragga Twins. The duo made up of Flinty Badman and Deman Rockers have been sending their positive vibrations through a myriad of genres over the last 30 years, their voices are known to always get the people dancing. Their musical travels have caused run-ins with the likes of Skrillex, James Brown and Margaret Thatcher but this all came after they made their switch from reggae to rave music 25 years ago.
The Ragga Twins recently sat down with UKF to speak about the many stops of their musical journey. Before 808 drums were the background of their crazy Ragga rhymes, they lent their voices to reggae and got one song picked up by a Channel 4 Margaret Thatcher documentary.

The Twins then moved on to feature on drum and bass tracks with Shut Up And Dance Records. This was their move to the rave scene and although they were skeptical about it at first, they grew to love the energy of the up and coming genre.
After featuring on many more old school rave tracks with the likes of Aquasky, the Ragga Twins were then pulled further into the electronic world when Skrillex plucked a sample from their Passenger sample pack and made this gem.
It was all over after this track came out and every producer wanted a feature from the Ragga Twins for their bass tracks. Check out some more tracks from the Twins below to celebrate their contribution to electronic music and read more about their transformation here.
