Major Lazer have introduced a new, but familiar sound in their new single \”Bass Drop\” which is filled with filthy drops mixed with screams from Andy Samberg and somehow it produces a wonderful result. The new track from Diplo, Jillionaire, and Walshy Fire resembles the old school Skrillex, back in the \”Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites\” Days. It seems this bass trio wants to go back to the time of drops being preceded by someone screaming \”CALL 911 NOW!\” and I think it\’s something we all have been waiting for. The new sound is very grimy and is closer to dubsetp than anything else.
Besides creating bass dripping anthems, Major Lazer are also responsible for a cartoon featuring on the FXX Network as a part of Animation Domination, further cementing these guys in electronic music history.
