It seems like it was only yesterday that Life in Color was going by the name Dayglow. Since the big announcement back in 2012 about the name change, Life in Color has expanded not only in America, but internationally as well. Spain, Brazil, and Canada are just a few of those destinations. The \”World\’s Largest Paint Party\” has soaked our bodies with paint, filled our ears with the best dance music, and of course given us memories that will last a lifetime. However, in 2016, Life in Color returns to Sun Life Stadium on January 16, 2016, in Miami, Florida, and is promising more surprises than ever before.
Life in Color has expressed to their fans and festival goers that this year\’s installment is all about us and our experience at the festival. Jack Ü was the first artist announcement that really got the ball rolling and caused the whispers within the school hallways. By Life in Color announcing Jack Ü as their first artist, it clearly showed the public that they were not playing games. Steve Aoki, Zeds Dead, Flosstradamus, 3LAU, Keys N Krates, Ruby Rose, David Solano, Crespo, Big Sean, and even more artists will be playing at Life in Color Miami. The lineup speaks for itself on just how upbeat and live our time in the kingdom is going to be.
Themes are now a common element found in music festivals. Individuals want to feel like they a part of a story from beginning until the end, and festivals are beginning to deliver exactly that. Life in Color Kingdom is the theme for this year, and I personally could not be any happier with this choice. Think about the beautiful decor and stage designs that will match this theme- as well as all of the costumes and unique outfit designs from attendees plus performers, and then of course the magnitude of \”kingdom\” related totems. Yes, you heard correctly: Life in Color is encouraging totems at the festival. Life in Color did not stop there, because they are also providing: kandi making stations, paint stations, reflection walls, and even more to influence a better experience.
Life in Color has also released a 3D sneak peek video of the festival map and the design of the stages. The official website’s video and picture of the site map indicate there will be a total of four stages. There will be two stages where artists will be playing: the main stage (Raging Kingdom) and the tent stage (Underwater Kingdom). The other two stages are to show off your creativity and skills. The \”Sphere Kingdom\” is going to be a metal/fire art installation, while the \”Spirit Kingdom\” will be a home for individuals to come together and connect with each other.
The layout seems like everything is more spread out and more organized, giving festival goers more room to rage on and be happy. Its safe to say that the excitement for this year\’s Life in Color is getting stronger with all of these announcements. A little birdy has also hinted that there may be more surprises are on their way to Miami. The kingdom is awaiting for our arrival. Stay tuned for the full festival review right here on EDM Chicago.
P.S. Don\’t forget to wear white.
