Officials are finalizing plans to bring Lady Gaga\’s massive stage production to Coachella
Lady Gaga will headline both weekends of Coachella, replacing Beyoncé who cancelled due to her pregnancy. Gaga will fill Beyoncé\’s spot on both Saturday nights of Coachella (April 15 and 22). The team with festival organizers Goldenvoice and AEG Live are in the midst of finalizing plans to bring Gaga\’s stage production to Indio — an announcement will come in the following days, sources state.
The news of Gaga replacing Beyoncé comes just five days after Queen B\’s resignation; Beyoncé could be in the third trimester of her pregnancy during Coachella, and according to her doctor, it is better for the singer to stray away from performances. Instead, Beyoncé will perform at Coachella in 2018.
Lady Gaga will add the back-to-back weekend time slots to her already packed 2017 tour schedule. Gaga\’s Joanne World Tour will kick off August 1 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, and make its way across Northern America.
Coachella stuck to their guns by picking a female performer to replace Beyoncé — Lady Gaga will now be the first woman to headline Coachella since Björk in 2007.
