No, I don’t know who Kid Arkade are either. I tried to do a bit of research into whom he/she/they are, but came back with nothing but a Facebook page started a few weeks ago and that was about it. A brand new act it would appear then; the anonymous collective Kid Arkade drop debut single \”Atlas Run\” on the mighty Ultra Music on September 5th.
Clearly taking influence from French electro (the nods to the likes of Daft Punk and Justice are unmistakable) but not doing it as well, \”Atlas Run\” is riff-laden, electro you’ve probably heard made better elsewhere. Yes it peaks in all the right places, but I feel I’ve heard it all before. If I wanted to listen to someone ripping off SebastiAn from about 6 years ago, I’d just listen to his music instead.
It\’s a track I don’t love, don’t hate, but don’t really care about it too much either. Whoever Kid Arkade maybe, I’d suggest one thing: must do better.
