Kendrick Lamar is a frequent name at some of the biggest festivals around the world but throughout the next week he will be exclusively throwing intimate shows in select cities around the U.S., including Chicago. Lamar\’s first annual Kunta\’s Groove Session is in support of his sophomore album To Pimp A Butterfly and he will be accompanied by his back-up band, The Wesley Theory, as well as labelmate Jay Rock. The Chicago edition of the Kunta Groove Session will be held at the Concord Music Hall on Thursday, November 5th.
Considering the small capacity at the Concord, this event is likely to sell out very quickly. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, October 30 at 10AM CST via Clubtix.com. Lamar will also perform in select cities including New Orleans, Dallas, Washington DC, New York City, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and ending with two stops in California. Kendrick is arguably the only rapper of his caliber that is touring in such an intimate way and there is only one way to find out how groovy Kunta\’s Groove Session really is.
