Los Angeles Producer/DJ Kalipzo has been rocking the underground bass house scene for the past year. A natural behind the decks and a proud member of the Low Freqs crew, Kalipzo has thrown down alongside heavy hitters such as Feed Me and Wolfgang Gartner. Kalipzo first got into the rave scene at the tender age of 14 and started DJing and producing at 16.
Kalipzo’s name is a result of her combined fascination with Pirates of the Caribbean, white magick, and Kali Linux. Kalipzo originally set out to be a dubstep producer, but it wasn’t until 2017, when she met the Low Freqs, that she discovered her true calling: Bass House. Her hard hitting, vibey sets will have you shuffling all night, and she is notorious for busting out a clean shuffle herself every now and then between transitions.
Her production matches her DJing intensity, flowing from dark and groovy to bright and hype. Kalipzo is a proud bisexual, and a strong advocate and activist for women’s and LGBTQ rights. A hippy at heart, her main goal with her music career is to make everyone feel loved and accepted, no matter who they are. Inspired by everything from witchcraft to Rage Against the Machine and Benny Banassi, Kalipzo is an incredibly versatile artist who will continue to surprise and impress her listeners. Today she returns to the scene with her powerful new single “Cake.”
“Cake” is a bass house banger with flaring synths and deep heavy subs. The track boasts great drum percussion and unique heavy bass sound design. The vocals presented by Naz Tokio create a very catchy track. This aggressive bass house tune is one you don’t want to miss. Listen below
