Making it’s debut this past Halloween weekend in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jawbreaker Festival came in hot with a heavy hitting lineup. The festival drew in crowds from all over the Midwest to see the likes of GRiZ, Zedd, Louis the Child, RL Grime, ODESZA and more.
First Year Success for Jawbreaker
Halloween weekend was one for the books if you were an attendee at Jawbreaker for it’s spooky and fun-filled event. Not only did all the artists on the lineup absolutely crush their sets, but there were fun activities throughout the festival as well. There was a smaller side-stage within the festival that included local dubstep artists, which is a great way to showcase up-and-coming talent. In addition, there were live art installations around the building. The coolest installation was the graffiti wall with the Jawbreaker logo and Halloween creations. Lastly, the festival was brought to life with characters that walked the grounds bringing festive and spooky scares to attendees. The newly introduced Peterman the Clown was walking around the festival providing plenty of creepy vibes to keep up with the Halloween spirit!
There were many amenities provided at the event for all to enjoy. Merch tents were centrally located full of awesome items, plenty of bars had the drinks flowing, multiple bathroom locations were open, and water was provided for FREE. This is a huge plus to have at any event, as the most important thing is making sure all guests are having fun and are staying hydrated. Medical tents were on site and ready to take the best care of any guests who needed it. The creators of Jawbreaker really set their event up for success.
Next year to continue the event’s success, the only thing we hope to see is a more welcoming security staff. During the event, some staff were rude to attendees, which in turn can change the mood of whomever is treated poorly. We’re all there to have fun with fellow music lovers. We just want to escape the real world for just a little bit by dancing the night away to amazing music. Having staff constantly walking through the crowd glaring at you assuming you’re doing something wrong doesn’t give off the friendliest vibe. All that we look for in the future is a welcoming staff who want us to have a good time in their venue.
We cannot wait to see what the future has in store for Jawbreaker. With such a great debut year, I can’t even imagine what ideas they already have flowing for next year. Until then, be sure to like the Facebook page to see all the fun pictures that will be posted from this year!
