There aren’t many people that by 26 years old can look back at an enviable 7-year music career. Two top 5 singles, a top 10 single, a top 10 album along with performances at Glastonbury, T4 on the Beach and the first rapper to perform for the Queen at Buckingham Palace, plus collaborations with Sir Elton John, Chip and Lemar are achievements that many artists will only ever dream of and can only respect, but for Ironik it’s no dream.
Ironik gives an account of life ‘Ticking Off Boyhood Dreams’ in the form of his new E.P. The first track to be released is ‘Die For You’ where Ironik lays a heartfelt verse on a mid-tempo beat, which you hear build up to the drum and bass fuelled chorus featuring the vocals of L Marshall. It is often hard to cross tempos but this is executed perfectly, building the momentum of the track and creating a unique dynamic.
