In this wildly competitive industry, you should be hugely impressed by artists that seem to blow up overnight. Frank Walker may not be a household name quite yet but, after his performance this past weekend in Miami on the Ultra main stage, he’s well on his way.
As the most recent addition to the roster for Golden Hare Group, the talent management service that represents Kygo, Frank Walker is making leaps already. His debut EP ’24’ just dropped on Friday! While the release is composed of only four tracks, each is uniquely satisfying. Nevertheless, it will leave you eager for more.
The first track, ‘Angel Falls’ feat. Sterling Fox, begins with Fox’s flawless vocals—not to mention, some lyrics that will wake you up. A rolling bassline rumbles into an upbeat but heavy drop overlaid by crisp synth stabs and altered vocal lines. Truly poignant.
‘Less Lonely’ is sure to stir up an emotional response in even the most stoic of listeners. Breathy female vocals admit the reality of craving the company of someone you may not love. Sure, it’s a familiar theme but when you combine that with the catchy, tropical beat of Walker’s emerging style…pure bliss.
‘Love Me Close’ feat. Bad Science leads off with cozy, folk-style female vocals and a beautiful uptempo beat you can’t help but bob your to. An acoustic guitar line leads into another blissed out tropical drop. The horns are the cherry on top!
No less sensual than the rest of Walker’s debut EP, ‘Young’ feat. Andrew Jackson is a guaranteed tearjerker. Jackson’s angelic voice and the ethereal roll of the drum and bass line create a tangible energy you’ll feel for days.
Frank Walker may have just arrived on the scene but go ahead and make some room in your schedule because you won’t want to miss this. Check out the full EP here!
