Following on from the widespread success of their single “Vultures” which dropped back in April, we’re excited to see HXV back on the scene and kicking butt this week. The duo, who hail from Atlanta, have today released “What You Off”, and we highly recommend you take a listen.
A clever and sultry combination of trap, bass and hip hop, the pair has brought on board lyricist Lil Uzi Vert to offer his distinctive vocals to the single. With him setting the tone via short, sharp bursts of repeated words, it ups the suspense that drags you along before a rattling trap beat adds some weight. Hugely luxurious and sophisticated, the melody develops throughout the tune’s entirety and pulls each unique element together brilliantly.
