Today the nominations for the 57th annual Grammy awards were released to the public. Many big contenders like Pharrell and The Black Keys are at the top of the list, but other than that it is an eclectic mix of fresh faces and familiar names.
Deadmau5\’s newest album While (1<2) landed a nomination for best dance/electronic album, making that his sixth, and for the second year in a row Disclosure is on the list. Their enormous collaboration with the legendary Mary J. Blige, \”F For You,\” garnered a nomination for best dance recording, and Sam Smith, who was made famous by Disclosure\’s radio classic \”Latch,\” earned 5 nominations in prestigious categories such as record of the year and best new artist.
Some surprises include the newcomer ZHU earning a nomination for his lead single, \”Faded,\” and the ever-changing Mat Zo receiving one for his debut album Damage Control.
