Greetings, weekend warriors. We\’re back with another installment of Friday Freebies; this time, we\’re doubling down.
Last weekend, there was a minor incident that ended with our website going down for maintenance purposes. Fortunately, the site is back up and running; unfortunately, we missed out on a Friday of free music.
Being a huge fan of music liberated from a price tag, I\’ve decided to double up on today\’s free tracks. It\’s been an incredible end-of-year for dance music; artists we know and love are putting out their debut albums while rising stars focus on making a name for themselves. The battle for the best breakout producer of 2014 is just as important as the veteran battle for album of the year. We\’re looking at the future of dance music today, celebrated as a generous gift of free art.
Start your weekend right with this vast selection of tunes; we\’ve got a variety of genres for your choosing. Whether you\’re winding down or starting up, check these tracks out.
Friday Freebies: Weekends of November 14th & 21st, 2014
Alvin Risk – Venture
This week\’s featured freebie comes from a very familiar face; from leading OWSLA\’s dubstep crusade back in 2011 to headlining his own shows, multi-genre producer Alvin Risk has come a long way in the dance music world. Over the years, the quality of his tracks have remained consistently high and he shows off said skills in his new \”Venture\” EP. Not only is he producing in a wide range of genres, but he\’s also writing and singing vocals on the songs. This EP is tightly packed with tons of talent and I\’m beyond stoked that he has given it to us for free.
\”Stream, download it, iTunes it, BitTorrent it, anything you want. It\’s yours, I made it for you.\”

Dillon Francis ft. Simon Lord – Drunk All The Time (The Rebirth)
Producer and comedian extraordinaire (just kidding) Dillon Francis has reworked yet another one of his tracks, this time with a summer festival-smashing theme. You can read more about his remix here, but for now, hit play and groove. Here at EDM Chicago, we love Dillon and all of his alter-egos.

Lets Be Friends – Pill On Francis
Speaking of Dillon Francis, UK-based duo Lets Be Friends have released a track that pays tribute to the goofy, lovable man himself. You can definitely hear (and maybe even smell) the Dillon in this one with its quirky, happy synth battling crunchy bass stabs.

Sluggers – Voyager EP
It seems that many producers are starting to take on a trend of hiding their identities; the mysterious duo Sluggers keeps this trend going. Virtually, they can be anyone. You never know who\’s behind the booth these days, whether it\’s someone completely new or an already decorated producer. Let this 3-track techno EP speak for itself. Make sure you hit the download button on each track below; it\’s only free for a month.

CRNKN – Still feat. Jhene Aiko
Courtesy of thissongissick.com, LA-based producer CRNKN takes on the deep house duties with \”Still.\” With vocals from Jhene Aiko, this groovy tune keeps a simple structure and delivers a deep, mellow vibe.

In Case You Missed It:
This weeks ICYMI comes (once again) from French producer L\’homme aux 4 lettres. He\’s best known for the mysterious Point Point project, touching on future sounds and blending genres like no tomorrow. Simply titled \”Erogene,\” this tune is far from simple; it captures bouncy synths and blends a nice hip-hop beat with Jersey club, a genre starting to bridge into the dance music sphere. If this is what the future sounds, I\’m pretty excited.
