This past October, DJ Snake released his hit \”Middle\” featuring Bipolar Sunshine, the first single off his debut album. While the song is a deviation from his usual trap bangers, it is pleasant and refreshing. Yesterday, he dropped the music video to accompany the song.
The music video seems to be a bittersweet, comic book love story. It begins with a guy dressed in full make-up and a quirky superhero outfit, sitting at a diner by himself with other patrons looking and laughing at him. To them, he looks like an outcast. In order to ease the pain of the bullying, he pours some liquor in his coffee then looks out the window to find a girl just like him staring in.
The two take off on a whimsical journey in the night, flying through the town and scaling buildings like superheroes. When he wakes up in the morning, he finds himself alone again and frantically looks for his girl. After a failed attempt to fly, he hits the windshield of the cab she and her other lover are in. He runs away and she follows then soothes his wounds.
What came as a surprise was, after his make up is taken off at the end, it is evident that the main character is Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson.
