Everyone\’s favorite internet comedian and electronic producer Dillon Francis has been keeping his fans on edge by pushing his album release later and later into 2014. Originally supposed to have been released in March then May of this year, Dillon is now saying that his newest album, \”Money Sucks, Friends Rule\”, will for sure be released in July through Mad Decent.
In an interview with inthemix back in February, Dillon said that this late release is not his choice and that \”it’s all like these weird semantics of labels that they have to have this release structure – which I understand now, but at the beginning I didn’t. I’m kind of bummed, but I get it\”. When asked about what to expect from his new album, Dillon described it as \”a collection of work\” that varies in tempo and moods including his “most random records ever. It’s what I grew up on, which is indie-pop stuff. I did a song with Brendon Urie from Panic At The Disco, and it’s this weird, 94-BPM anthem. There’s a bunch of other stuff that’s in the same vein\”.
Though he can\’t share his album with his fans just yet, Dillon has released several singles to keep them patiently waiting, including his hit \”Get Low\” with DJ Snake, \”Set Me Free\” with Martin Garrix, and his most recent remixes of Chromeo\’s \”Jealous\” and Daft Punk\’s \”Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger\”. Hopefully that will be enough to hold us all over until July, but if not I\’m sure Dillon will not disappoint and has a few surprises up his sleeve.
