When \”My Way\” was released last Friday, every one of our knee jerk reactions was that the song was about the previously relationally departed lady in his life, T-Swift. The lyrics made it seem so obvious.
Perhaps not.
During an interview, Calvin Harris explained the “song’s kind of about breaking out of a situation that you thought was a good thing.” He then goes on to tell fans that the concept for the song began years ago when he left Safeway. “I was trying to move to London and I was working in the store in Scotland, I was trying to go on and make music for a living but I couldn’t because I didn’t have any money. I was like, damn this grocery store! If I could break out of this I could have enough time to work on music and get good.”
It\’s unclear to us whether Harris is being facetious or factitious, or a little of both. You be the judge.
