California Senate has passed a bill allowing last call hours to extend to 4 AM for bars and clubs in the state if wanted. Every municipality would have the option to choose the hours up until 4 AM. Before the bill was passed, the latest venues could sell alcohol was 2 AM. The change represents a shift in promoting openness in the dance and nightlife community.
“Nightlife matters a lot, culturally and economically, and it’s time to allow local communities more flexibility,” Senator Scott Wiener argued.
If the bill were to be passed, it would have a large impact on party hubs like San Francisco, LA and San Diego. A California LLC owner may benefit from extended last call hours until 4 AM, allowing them to potentially attract more customers to their business.
