Australia\’s own Stereosonic Music Festival is believed to be permanently canceled according to The Daily Telegraph in a paywall hidden article. The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Stereosonic\’s promoters Totem OneLove and SFX Entertainment have tossed the event after two attendees lost their lives at the festival in 2015. The cancelation of Stereosonic should really come as no surprise, as SFX Entertainment owns the festival and recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Totem OneLove\’s Simon Coyle did not respond to requests for comment, but founder Frank Cotela offered a few words, saying, \”I just don\’t know what is going on there at Stereosonic.\”
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Cotela along with his partner Richie McNeill are planning on embarking on a new festival adventure, saying, \”Maybe at the future I will do something but at this stage there is nothing on the go.\”
Stereosonic is looking to be another 2016 festival casualty, along with TomorrowWorld, Wakarusa and All Good Music Festival. Stay tuned for more information on Stereosonic\’s cancellation.
