Next month, it will be 3 years since we last saw Swedish House Mafia play together, after that legendary UMF set. However, it seems that one of the supergroup\’s former members isn\’t ready to say goodbye just yet. In an interview with BBC\’s Newsbeat, Axwell stated that he\’d never rule out the possibility of a reunion.
\”Obviously it\’s a great thing that we have done and we loved every minute of it,\” he said, \”but right now we\’re enjoying this new ride and I think Steve is probably the same. I think we\’re all in our happy places right now. Having said that it would be stupid of me to say never [to a reunion].\”
Newsbeat adds that many festivals, mainly Coachella, have been known for reuniting former bands or groups into performing once more. Axwell adds that while some day they may feel compelled to perform once more, it\’s \”more [likely to be] coming from us than at a festival.\”
While this isn\’t actually earth-shattering, it is nice to hear that SHM must be on good terms, and it coincides nicely with the upcoming 3-year anniversary of their final show together. When asked about the Axwell ^ Ingrosso project, Axwell states that he isn\’t sure how far the album is, but that they\’re just focusing on the singles for now.
