Although there isn\’t official word from Avicii yet. News has been spreading that due to his declining health, he will be cancelling all of his future shows. This would include his performance at TomorrowWorld which is coming up this September 26th.
His previous gallbladder issue in March which caused him to cancel all of his shows in Miami, and little recovery might be playing a factor in his decision to cancel his future shows. Avicii also recently released a new tune in which he collaborated with Wang Leehom for \’Loose Myself\’ which is why the news is more confusing.
With his nonstop touring since the operation, it seems that the physical toll it took on him is a big one. Hopefully Avicii will make a statement about this soon to clear the air. So stay tuned for more updates as this news unravels!
UPDATE: Avicii’s camp has confirmed to Billboard that that all touring and promotional activities have been canceled.
Reps for Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) confirmed to Billboard that that all touring and promotional activities have been suspended, pending the Swedish dance star\’s recovery from lingering health issues related to the surgeries that removed his gallbladder and appendix earlier this year.
Those same surgeries forced Bergling to miss his headlining slot at the 2014 Ultra Music Festival, as well as his Las Vegas residencies during the month of April.
Newly affected performances will include his headlining slot at TomorrowWorld later this month, as well as Las Vegas residencies at XS and Encore Beach Club and a scheduled Asian tour in October.
According to his reps, Avicii will recuperate in his native Stockholm until he has recovered the strength and physical well being necessary to resume work on his second artist album next year.
