As always, with the good comes the bad. With the second weekend of Coachella coming to a close, the crime reports are in. The total for both weekends combined came out to 270 arrests, both ahead of the numbers from last year by 15 percent.

According to KMIR, the majority of arrests during both weekends were related to \”possession and intoxication involving drugs and/or alcohol.\” Eighty-six attendees were arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of controlled substances with 5 being at the felony level. Thirty-five were arrested on suspicion of alcohol-related violations and 17 for alleged public intoxication.

Forty-six minors were arrested for alleged alcohol possession the first weekend but they seemed to get it together, as there were only 13 arrests during weekend two.

Drugs and alcohol weren\’t the only culprits at the festival. Two people were arrested on suspicion of robbery, which were the only violent crime arrests over both weekends.

Another incident involving police was a fight that broke out on Sunday morning with the festival security staff where two men ended up stabbed and one beaten. Thankfully, there were no life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made in connection with that incident.
