Dutch pop duo Vicetone released a special remix of The Weeknd\’s newest hit single \”Starboy\” as a free gift to fans yesterday. Vicetone decided to give away The Weeknd and Daft Punk\’s collaboration \”Starboy\” after an overwhelmingly positive response on social media.
The track retains the 80s dance pop sound of the original but enhanced by Vicetone\’s signature booming baroque house style. Although The Weeknd intended his song to be brooding with elements of glittery pop, Vicetone takes it in another direction, arguably improving upon the chorus parts. The posturing of The Weeknd\’s lyrics about his new level of success is not lost in this new version.
Taking to social media yesterday, Vicetone asked fans if they wanted to hear a new remix and included a short teaser of \”Starboy.\” Comment after comment begged them to release it, prompting the producers and DJs to upload the full version last night. Posting on social media about their gratitude for such enthusiasm from fans, \”Starboy\” is now available for free download on their Toneden account:

The Weeknd\’s latest incarnation is poised for even more success than his Beauty Behind the Madness era. Enlisting the help of house legends Daft Punk, The Weeknd is now validly vying for Michael Jackson\’s throne.
