Despite retiring from touring two weeks ago in Ibiza, superstar DJ Avicii vows to not leave music behind in a recent Instagram post. Keeping true to his word, track \”Without You\” has surfaced online in a fan-made lyric video.
Featuring vocals from frequent collaborator Sandro Cavazza, \”Without You\” is a triumphant emotional powerhouse about moving on after a breakup. Avicii firmly stays rooted in the progressive house sound that made him so beloved, opening with a poignant guitar sound and staggering synths in the chorus.
Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, is working on the follow-up to 2015\’s Stories and his production work with Madonna. \”Without You\” is due to be released on this forthcoming album, and if it\’s any indication, Avicii is far from from finished in delivering catchy emotional songs to his fans.
There is no word on a release date, with the Swedish producer recently celebrating his birthday with an African Safari. However, cowriter and vocalist Cavazza, who was also featured on tracks such as \”Gonna Love Ya\” on Stories, tweeted several days ago \”I have never seen so much love for an unreleased song. Your appreciation is incredible.\”
Avicii showcased \”Without You\” as the opening song to his last shows ever on his \”Won\’t Be Right Back Tour\” this year. In Ibiza, the stage went dark as the video screen showed the famous double-triangle Avicii symbol. Tim entered the booth as the song began, to the rapturous delight of the audience on that historic night.
