Calvin Harris is reportedly in talks for a role on the new series of The X Factor. This comes years after a slight mishap on the show back in 2009. The Scottish producer stormed the stage of the show with a pineapple on his head while comedy contestants Jedward were performing. Simon Cowell has since forgiven him for mocking the show, and the resulting ban of Calvin Harris from The X Factor might soon come to an end.
A source close to the show said, “Simon wants A-listers on board and Calvin is regarded as one of the biggest artists in music due to this phenomenal chart success”. The source also confirmed that Simon Cowell vouched for Harris, and that there would be no lingering beef between the two after the incident 7 years ago.
The mega-hit maker is said to be joining Nicole Scherzinger at the Judges’ Houses stage of the competition, according to The Sun. Regardless of the circumstances, the addition of Calvin Harris could bring a fresh perspective from an electronic music producer for the first time.
