Sometimes it\’s hard to keep up with quality new releases in all the fodder of the big name DJ releases and the rumor mills surrounding their Twitter accounts. Just in case you may have missed these exceptionally crafted bass music productions/remixes, we\’ve put together our top four favorites hot off the decks this week. Check out these melodic masterpieces and if you\’re not falling deep into the feels, then I\’ll cut off my typing fingers and retire from blogging.
HOTEL GARUDA – \”SMOKE SIGNALS\”
The bass house collaborative project between Manila Killa and Candie Weather has built quite the \”mainstream underground\” following over the past year as they\’ve released amazing remix after remix in addition to working on their solo careers. This week, the \”super group\” of sorts released their first original track that just may be their best sound design yet. Manilla Killa told ThisSongIsSick that original music is what they’ve “been working towards ever since we began Hotel Garuda.” Which means there\’s a lot to look forward to from the two.
The Chainsmokers – \”Dont Let me Down\” (Illenium Remix)
The Colorado bass music sensation, Illenium, is showing no signs of slowing down with his brand new remix of the Chainsmokers\’ first forray into trap, \”Don\’t Let Me Down.\” This one comes just two weeks after Nick Miller released his debut album, Ashes, which hit #1 on the iTunes Dance/Electronic Music charts the day it was released.
Illenium puts his melodic sound stamp on this one quite nicely — complete with the deep bass breakdowns, snare up-beats, and beautiful dreamy builds that never get old (be sure to show some <3 on Hype Machine). The reason this guy is such a remixing machine (with official support from the likes of Kaskade) is because he has a talent for staying true to the original character of every track he touches, while seamlessly lacing it with his signature style.
Kiiara – Feels (Jai Wolf Remix)
The OWSLA bass producer hailing from The Big Apple is continuing his steady assent into electronica culture with his dreamy chill trap rendition of Kiiara\’s \”Feels\” (out via Big Beat Records). Not to mention, a plethora of festival appearances this summer. He has actually been dropping this one is his live sets for some time now, so it\’s nice to get the mastered track this week, which speeds up and even chops Kiiara\’s entrancing vocals to deliver a more bouncy, shimmery production.
We\’re glad he caught the early attention of Skrillex with his future bass remix of \”Ease My Mind\” (which may be better than it\’s original) because this Moving Castle artist is going straight to the top.
QUINN XCII – \”NEW WAVE\” (Prod. ayokay)
If you haven\’t heard of Quinn XCII yet, then you should pay close attention to this brand new electronic infused hip-hop track. The quickly rising star could definitely be on track to become EDM\’s next big vocalist, with beautiful melodic collabs with Illenium, KOLAJ, and his producer-partner-in-crime ayokay. This future bass track — with its chill, catchy vocals and genius piano/drum combo — comes on the eve of their Bloom EP, which is set to release tomorrow. The production is just top notch in term of it\’s quality, combing elements of tropical house and chill trap that really gets us bouncing and singing along almost like a commercial pop ballad would.
