Steve Aoki, son of the Japanese immigrant who started restaurant chain Benihana, was recently interviewed by CNBC. Aoki is one of the most well-known figures in EDM today, and in my opinion, one of the smartest businessmen as well.
In the short video, Aoki says he was inspired by his dad and his very diligent \”Japanese\” work ethic. When asked what keeps him going in this industry, Aoki answered: \”it\’s the relationship I\’ve been creating and cultivating with the fans around the world. When you see them first hand, when you play all these shows and you look at their faces, you see this sense of sincerity and authenticity to how they are connected to the music…you can\’t help but get back in the studio and create more music that speaks to their feelings, and their heart.\” He\’s also planning on releasing a documentary soon.
