Renowned Miami nightlife icon Alejandro \”Alex\” Omes was reportedly found dead in his home Tuesday morning with the cause of death still unknown. He was 43 years old.
Omes along with Russell Faibisch formed the partnership that created Ultra Music Festival in 1999. Their partnership lasted until 2010 when, according to Omes, he was unfairly forced out by Faibisch, among others, as President of Ultra Enterprises Inc. In 2013, Omes went on to sue his former partner for $33 million; the case remains unresolved.
Ultra representatives released the following statement regarding Omes\’ passing:
\”The organizers of Ultra Music Festival extend their deepest condolences to the family of Alex Omes and are saddened by the news of his passing. We will continue to remember and celebrate Alex for his love, passion and contributions to the Electronic Dance Music community.\”
