Earlier this month, Australian producer Kronic wrapped up the summer with \”The Storm,\” the centerpiece to his debut EP Sophisticated Ignorance. The track is dramatic, dark and tells a deep story with haunting vocals.
The song kicks off with the powerful voice of Israel Bell, builds up to a bass-heavy chorus then abruptly winds back down. These highs and lows continue throughout the track, as they would in a suspenseful drama. At about halfway through, the predictability vanishes and the story goes a bit deeper, with Patty Crash joining in at the end.
Over the past two years, Kronic\’s music has drastically evolved. He started with a Trap-like style and has slowly pushed the boundaries of storytelling to end up where he is today – Cinematic Bass. As he continues to garner the likes of musicians like Lil Jon and Justin Bieber, we have a feeling we\’ll be seeing a lot more of Kronic in the days to come.
