At around 10pm on Friday night, protesters began piling into Piccadilly Park in Manchester UK to protest the government’s austerity measures. The protest was held as the Conservative Party was beginning its annual conference in the city.
This wasn’t just any protest though; it was a rave. Protesters danced to loud electronic music in the park for nearly 40 hours. Locals were filing noise complaints and police tried to reason with the rowdy citizens but were unsuccessful.
The rave protest attracted over 60,000 people. Police were finally able to bring the protest in the park to a close. Protesters then moved to the street to march throughout the city all today.
